What you think about becomes your reality...

$1,000 turned into a listing

August 24, 20263 min read

I believe in manifestation.

Not necessarily in the sense that you sit there, think about something long enough and somehow it magically appears.

I believewhat you think about eventually changes how you act. And how you act changes the opportunities you create.

I've seen this happen in my own business.

When I first got started, I decided to buy a bunch of For Sale signs and posts. I spent almost$1,000.

At the time, I didn't have all these listings that I needed signs for. I just knew I wanted to do more listing business, so I prepared for it. Here's the interesting part.

I was excited about the signs and the designs, so I started sharing them on social media.

Someone in my circle noticed them.

That led to a conversation.

That conversation led to a referral for a listing.

And that led to more business.

It's such a simple story, but I've always remembered it because I think it's a real-life example of manifestation.

The signs didn't magically create the listing.

My belief that I was going to get listings changed my actions.

I invested in the signs.

That made me excited to share them.

Sharing them created visibility.

Visibility created an opportunity.

And that opportunity became business.

Think about how often we do the opposite.

We say,I'll buy signs when I get a listing.

I'll get more lockboxes when I need them.

I'll create the presentation when I get the appointment.

I'll start prospecting consistently when things slow down.

That's defense mode.

You're preparing for what you currently have instead of preparing for where you say you want to go. And I see a lot of peoplehalfway invested in their business.

I'm not just talking about money.

I'm talking about yourtime and effort.

You want more business, but are you putting the time into creating it?

You want more listings, but are you preparing to become a listing agent?

You want a pipeline, but are you doing the activities every week that actually build one?

You want a different business, but does the way you spend your time reflect that?

I build my business for what's coming. Not just what's currently on my plate.

I think there's a subconscious message in that.

You're telling yourself:I believe this is where I'm going, so I'm going to prepare for it now.

And since this is the last week of summer, I think the same thing applies outside of business. A lot of people are taking off this week. Good.

Take the vacation.

Spend time with your family.

Go to the beach. Go out to dinner. Do something for yourself.

Think about the things you actually want your life to look like.

Those things help you feel good. They get you grounded. And I believe that puts you in a better place to create more positive things in your life.

Obviously, don't get crazy. Don't spend money you don't have because you're "manifesting." That's not the point.

The point is to stop living completely in defense mode.

Start creating room for the things you say you want.

The business.

The time.

The family.

The vacations.

The freedom.

Then put the work behind it.

Because manifestation without action is just wishing.

But when your thoughts start changing your actions, and your actions start creating opportunities, that's when things start becoming real.

As we head toward September, think about one question:

If I truly believed the business and life I want were coming, what would I be doing differently today?

Enjoy the last week of summer!
