Patience. Respect. Perspective

This week, I want to share something that's deeply personal to me.

I just returned from a family vacation to Costa Rica, and I decided to bring my mother along. Some of you may already know this, but my mom is legally blind. When you first meet her, you probably wouldn't realize it. She carries herself with confidence and independence. But over the years, her vision has declined significantly, making everyday life much more challenging.

To be honest, this wasn't the easiest vacation.

I probably put this woman through some of the toughest excursions she's ever experienced.

We climbed nearly 1,000 steps to see the breathtaking La Fortuna Waterfall. We hiked the trails overlooking the Arenal Volcano. We crossed hanging bridges high above the rainforest. We toured a coffee plantation and learned how chocolate is made.

Looking back, none of those memories would have happened if we had decided it was simply "too difficult."

Every step required patience, Trust, and encouragement.

There were moments when she could have said, "I can't do this."

There were moments when I could have become frustrated or impatient.

But then I asked myself a simple question...

If I don't take her... who will?

That changed my perspective. As we continued our journey, I started seeing the same resilient woman I remembered as a young boy. The woman who worked tirelessly to provide for my brother and me. The woman who never allowed her disability to define her. The woman who simply refused to quit.

When we finally finished the nearly 1,000 steps, my two kids ran over and gave their grandmother a high five. Three generations... celebrating together and I could see the smile on my mothers face.

It's a memory I'll never forget.

But here's what really stayed with me...I got to help her and She didn't have to do it alone.

Yes, I held her hand across bridges. I pointed out where the next step was.

We walked at a very slow pace. But I didn't give her the strength to climb those steps. I didn't give her the determination to keep going. I didn't give her the patience to deal with me—because trust me, I'm not perfect either.

She brought those things herself. I simply walked beside her.

As I reflected on the trip, I realized that's exactly what we do in this business.

None of us has all the answers.

Every experienced agent was once brand new.

Every top producer has lost deals.

Every broker has made mistakes.

The agents who grow the fastest aren't the ones who pretend to know everything. They're the ones who ask questions, tap into their training, and aren't afraid to lean on the people around them. That's why we invest in training.

That's why we encourage you to pick up the phone and call another agent.

That's why we have coaches, transaction coordinators, preferred lenders, trusted attorneys, strong partnerships with our title company, and an entire office that's willing to help.

No one builds a great business alone.

One of the things I'm most proud of isn't the number of agents we have or the number of homes we sell.

It's watching our agents partner together. It's watching agents identify the bottlenecks in their business and make meaningful changes that lead to personal and professional growth.

Helping each other with offers.

Sharing ideas.

Covering each other's open houses.

Referring business.

Celebrating wins.

That's the culture we're building.

A culture where we understand that we all get further when we climb together.

I'll leave you with one final thought.

Be patient with yourself.

Growth takes time.

Be patient with your clients.

They're making one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

Be patient with your fellow agents.

You never know what they're carrying outside of work.

Patience isn't weakness = It's composure.

And composure is a sign of respect.

Respect for yourself.

Respect for your clients.

Respect for your colleagues.

Respect for the process.

This business isn't about proving that you can do everything on your own.

It's about having the humility to ask for help, the courage to help someone else, and the wisdom to know the difference. So this week, check your ego at the door.

Lean into your training.

Lean into your partnerships.

Lean into your colleagues.

Walk beside someone who needs your help.

And don't be afraid to let someone walk beside you.

Because that's how we build stronger relationships.

That's how we build stronger businesses.

And that's how we all win... together.

Have an amazing week.
